In the shape of hares: Caressing the marble and stone (Iteration 3) uses words and sentences taken from the footnotes of the witchcraft confessions of Isobel Gowdie to construct a narrative both ominous and hope filled. These words and sentences noted over 170 years after the confessions are collaged with found vintage photographs and turn of the century sporting event photographs as a a lens to reflect on the continuous return of deplorable politics.
Caressing the marble and stone is an ongoing transformation-based project. It is an artist book in flux where the book is remade and transformed as different iterations. Through the transformation processes these iterations as new books serve different research purposes. The book project’s title is a line from a Joy Division song which relates to content and formation of the project.
